Making my own movie - 04/06/08

A have news for you, folks: in the next couple of months, I'll be busy writing the screenplay of a suspense movie, and then shooting it with some friends. Some of you might be surprised, so... how did all of this start? Well, I happen to be studying at school as a member of the IB programme (official site: www.ibo.org), having chosen the ART AND DESIGN subject as one of my courses. And since I'm such a fan of movies and filmmaking in general, I decided that, as part of some of the work I have to do for the subject, I should film a movie.

At first, all I did was shooting a couple of 5-min "mini-films" using action figures and a model - the videos are available on YouTube, but I'll only post the links in a couple of days, muahahaha -, but then, about a month ago, I decided it was time to start the process of making a real-life movie, so I started writing the screenplay. Although I haven't finished it yet, I've made tons of progress, and I calculate the first draft will be finished in very little time. It's a suspense flick, and I believe it's pretty well-written - as of now -, and if everything works, it's gonna end up being pretty entertaining.

So yeah, that's all I guess. I don't plan to write a mega introduction. The thing is, if you're interested, it would be cool if you'd follow the progress of the creation of my movie. That's why I've created its official site - click here to enter -, in which I'll post, from time to time, updates regarding the writing of the screenplay, the casting, information about the characters and the plot, and, eventually, the shooting. I'll include many photos and tons of information, so if you're a devote reader or if you're interested in movie-making it would be cool if you followed all of this. I mean, if you really wanna make a film, at least a short, you'd get first hand info here. The best thing about it? If everything works, you'll realize anyone can make a good movie if tons of effort and time is put into its creation. So, if you're interested in making your own flick, I believe you should follow my updates.

Yeah, that's all. I hope you'll enjoy all of this. Just click on the link. Wish me luck!
